The Executive Council of OMICRON consists of seven brothers, each of whom
assume specific leadership roles, as elected by the chapter. In
order, the positions are as follows: ARCHON
The Archon is the chapter's chief executive. The name was taken
from the name of a chief magistrate in ancient Greece. He presides over all
meetings and supervises the work of the other officers. He oversees
scholarship and all other committees. He is the chapter's head PR man.
Sam Gates is the Archon of the OMICRON Chapter.
VICE ARCHON
The Vice Archon in the chapter's second in command. He is in charge of
recruitment and the rush committee, as well as public relations of the
chapter.
Rod Dempsey is the Vice Archon of the OMICRON Chapter.
SECRETARY
The Secretary is the chapter's recorder and primary point of contact,
both fraternally and externally. He is responsible for continuity in
policy and perpetuation of tradition. He maintains correspondence with
National Headquarters and makes sure that the chapter is always current
with its paperwork. The Secretary records the minutes of each chapter
meeting, as well as records of chapter averages in terms of scholarship.
Lee Hutchins is the Secretary of
the OMICRON Chapter.
TREASURER
The Treasurer is charged with the preparation and maintenance of the
chapter's finances. He collects and disburses chapter funds and oversees
all committee activities where income or expenditures are involved.
He
proposes a budget to the chapter each semester. Tyler
Hallman is the Treasurer of the
OMICRON Chapter.
WARDEN
In addition to being the parliamentarian at chapter meetings, the Warden
is charged with the organization and implementation of the member
education program. The Warden oversees the Associate Member Education
committee and is responsible for assigning big brothers. All elements of
education in the chapter fall directly under the purview of the Warden. Chris
Whetstone is the Warden of the OMICRON Chapter.
HISTORIAN
The Historian functions as the chapter's link to its past. He maintains
a chapter scrapbook and chairs the Alumni Relations committee. In this
capacity, the Historian plans and executes the Founders Day semi-formal,
publishes a semi-annual alumni newsletter and acts as the chapter's correspondent
to the national newsletter, The Star and Lamp. The
importance of excellent alumni relations makes the position of Historian
one of great responsibility. Daniel
Murdock is the Historian of the
OMICRON Chapter.
CHAPLAIN
The Chaplain is responsible for the chapter's heart and soul. Overseeing
all of the chapter's religious activities, with includes all rituals, a
successful chaplain can exemplify and amplify the spirit of brotherhood
within the chapter. As leader of the Ritual committee, it is a
chaplain's responsibility to choose appropriate rituals for the
brotherhood and the associate member class, and to explain and interpret
the values conveyed therein. Scott
