Our Chapters Contribution

In the past years the OMICRON Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi have done many exciting things towards our National Philanthropy, Push America.  Push America is Pi Kappa Phi’s own organization which uses it’s chapters to reach out to local communities to help spread the awareness of people with disabilities.  In the summer of 2000 the OMICRON Chapter had one of it’s members participate in Gear Up Florida, which is a ride by bicycle for more than 800 miles from Miami to Tallahassee Florida over two weeks to help raise money and spread the awareness of people with disabilities.

In the recent years the OMICRON Chapter has held local fundraisers such as car washes and other local events raising thousands of dollars for local charities.  This past year we started our first annual Skeet shoot to raise money for Push America.  Our efforts are growing and becoming very exciting for the OMICRON Chapter.  We are planning our next fundraiser for the fall semester 2001 and that will take place in mid October, and please check back for details on that fundraiser in the next month.  I feel that the sky is the limit for our chapter and with the many young leaders we offer I feel certain Push America will be a great success for the OMICRON Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi.

Journey of Hope

Since Push America was formed, our brothers of OMICRON have been active with Push America.  All members have been involved in fund raising efforts on campus. We have attended Push Weeks, which are an alternative to traditional spring break.  Some of our men have participated in Give A Push weekends traveling across the country to perform volunteer work for camps for disabled.  We are looking forward to sending a few men from our chapter to participate in the Journey of Hope, a bicycle trek across the nation to raise funds for the disabled.  We are very proud of their accomplishments.

Fraternally Yours,
